HISTORIA
HISTORY Cabezas de Cera (Wax Heads) is a contemporary music group, with a proposal characterized by the combination of not so conventional instruments (Chapman Stick, Wind Midi, electro acoustic drum and twelve-string guitar) and unique instruments created by the group's drummer (Charrofono, Jarana Prisma, Tambor kitai and Tricordio). This results in a unique, experimental and vanguardist music, both local and global, that balances acoustic and electronic sounds. Hecho en México is CDC's most recent release, which summarizes more than a decade of career and a year of hard work with the tours of Brazil, South Korea, Spain, France and Dominican Republic. This album, completely recorded live, is based on the need to catch the energy generated by a concert, and on the process of maturing music not at the studio but on stage, with the public acting as a judge and main drive. To achieve this, CDC directly caught various performances given from late February to early July 2007 in different cities in Mexico.
Now, after the experience of recording this album, the compositions are much freer, with a flexible structure, due to the fact that they have been developed and consolidated along the presentations. This allows for the improvisation to have a stronger presence, and results in a different occurrence at each performance. The final product is a more progressive and energetic concert. Also, the sound proposal follows an experimental trend and the creation of new sonorities, which define them as vanguardists and unique in their class. The Charrofono, the Jarana Prisma, the Kitai drum, the Tricordio; in addition to the Wind Midi, the Chapman Stick, the HandSonic, among others, are some of the characters that will appear on stage to reverberate within the heads of the audience. Cabezas de Cera has performed at some of the most important stages and festivals in México and abroad.
